Program Assessments

Looking to take your foodservice program to the next level but not sure where to start? We’ll work with you to identify your program’s strengths and areas for improvement and outline a strategy to help you reach your goals.

What Is a Program Assessment?

We conduct an on-the-ground operational evaluation, identify equipment needs in your kitchen(s), and meet with your leadership team. At the end, we provide a program assessment report.

How We Work

Initial Survey

We ask you to fill out an initial survey to help us better understand your program's needs and goals. A member of our team will then be in touch shortly. Complete the survey.

Site Visits

We visit your program in-person. During the visit or visits, depending on the size of your district, we:

Meet with your program’s leadership team and key district stakeholders to:

  • Establish core goals of the project, breakdown the timeline of our work together, and confirm our collective approach

  • Review your existing program and daily program oversight so that we have a deep understanding of current participation, limitations, challenges, and highlights

Assess each of your kitchen sites and their respective teams to:

  • Understand their capabilities from an infrastructural stand point

  • Audit key protocols (HACCP, cleanliness standards, etc.)

  • Inventory equipment and assess working conditions

  • Evaluate kitchen configuration as it relates to efficiency and operational flow

  • Understand the skills and abilities of staff in the context of what the program is asking of them

Program Assessment Report

We conclude with a program assessment report which includes an overview of your program’s current operations, analysis and key takeaways gathered during our site visit(s), and strategic recommendations.

Key Questions We’ll Ask Ourselves (and You)!

  • What’s holding your program back from reaching its goals?

  • Does your existing labor model, kitchen infrastructure, and/or staff training support your goals?

  • Are menu offerings in accordance with your program’s capabilities? If not, how can this gap be closed?

  • What opportunities have yet to be unlocked?
